Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade Celebrates Heritage and Draws Crowds

Photos by Author, March 15 Hundreds of marchers took to the streets of Philadelphia on Tuesday morning for the city’s annual St. Patrick's Day Parade , drawing large crowds clad in green to celebrate Irish heritage and culture. Cherelle L. Parker, the city's mayor, led the procession. The event featured marching bands, historical reenactors, dancers, and community organizations, all honoring St. Patrick while also marking 250 years of Irish contributions to the United States. City officials closed streets and blocked traffic hours in advance to prepare for the event, which began around 11 a.m. near 16th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard.
